Dear sister, 

after waiting sometime after receiving your letter I will endeavor to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and would have been heaps better if you and Fannie* would have come down with the boys. I would go home with the boyes if Mr. Guyer was able to go but he is not well enough to go and I can't leave him. Mary if Mother gets sick anymore which I hope she won't I want you to write to me for I intend to come up shure. Mary Mag and Dorinda came down with Augustus yesterday and stayed all day and then they went to Mr. Smith's to a partie last night and they promised to come here tonight.

Mary tell Mother that if she hasn't got all the boys coats and pants made to let me know. I have learned how to cut and make. I guess I can beete anybody. Tell Mother that I want her to come down. Mary you must come down as soon as you can stay two or three weeks. I have never pieced any of my quilts since I was at home so had just got done sewing up our Janes when Ma Guire went up they killed their hogs that week while she was going up there. I had just finished putting the lard away when she got home, then we had to fix for Christmas and so I didn't get my new dress done until last night. I haven't finished my collar yet the one I cut out when I was up there. Mary I have had a nice time a Cooking since Christmas set in the darky we had hiered time was out. Mrs. Guire is going tomorrow to hire another. Mary give my love to Emira Jane and Sarah Ann and all the rest. Tell Emira to kiss Eugene for me. Tell John that Lucie will be married if he don't hurrah and come down. Tellagraph that everlasting and beautiful Tom Harvey of yours. I will bring my letter to a close. Write soon give me all the nuse. You needn't to write anything about the boys thee. Tom Harvey promised to keep me posted on that subject. He'll know what you intend to do......(illegible) have you. No more at present but remains your sister
