Dear Sister,

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I tak my seat to write after laying baby down in the protection of his heavenly father to drop you a fiew lines to let you know that we are not all well. Grandmaw has been sick ever since she came home from Sedalia. She has been very sick. She is better now. I think she will get well now if really managed right. She had the remittent fever. The rest is as well as common. The baby is well. He is almost grown. Tell Mother that she must be shure and come down the last of this month. I will look for her, tell her that (scratched out) The school will commence down here in a fiew weeks. Send John along if she is going to and let him commence with the school. They say the man who is going to teach is a good teacher. I do not know his name. Mary I haven’t woven but one peace of cloth yet. I have been dyeing -----last week and will be next week if nothing happens. I have about thirty pounds of-------to spin yet plan to weave after they are spun. So you see I have plenty to do. We still have dry weather down here yet it tried to rain last night but failed. I have nothing to rite of importance. Give my love to all my old friends Fannie Elliott in particular. She has been so good to rite to me. I can’t forget her, tell Fannie that I love her as well as ever any how if she has treated me so bad. Come down and you and Fannie come--so nothing more at present rite soon.

May heavens highest blessings rest upon you is my prayer.
