Dear Sister and family 	We are all liking to see another New Years day I feel very thankful for this blessing there has ben some of our neighbors and friends pased away in the last year there was too funerals at our church Xmas weak health is very good now We all are tolerable well but George he has ben porley for some time Sister Myra Janes Death was very sad to us our loss is heavens gain While it makes us sad we now they are better off and the young may die and the old must die. it is so s----te to be prepared and we are trying to live so we will be prepared.
I have a great responcibility in trying to raise my children wright I know I dont do my duty but I try We all had a very pleasant Christmas Ethels family and Olas was hear they all seemed to enjoy it better than ever before had nice pleasant weather all the time I have ben to a new years dinner today a nice time George went to brother Williams to day Fannie was complaining some there children are all well Anna had a bad spell of fever some time ago Ola has a new baby they havent decided on a name yet he is 2 months old crops was very good corn was better than cotton cotton was a good price early but it is down now part of the people are holding for a better price they think it will go to 15 cts We have 5 bales yet sold for 11 cts come sold for 12 and 13 cts We made 60 gallons of syrup as nice and good as I ever saw it is seling at 50 and 60 cts per gallon We raised good many sweete potatoes they are roting very bad
there was so many Irish potatoes raised and shiped from hear this year we raise 2 crops a year our fall potatoes was fine fruit was very good we had fine pares our trees are all young We havent many apples the children are all going to school but the baby and I have a time getting their dinners fixed they have to start so early
Rayford won a gold medal at the close of the school in June and some of the boys was too grades higher than him I will send you one of the Programs I was so proud of him there was so many compliments pased on him
mules and horses are not as high as they was last winter cattle is law not hardly any selling hogs is 4 cts grows I raised good many chickens they had sore head lost some My Turkeys all died with sore head I sold $13.70 cts worth of chickens I sold lots of eggs and butter but dident keepe account of them
We havent heard from Amanda or any of the kinfolkes in a log time would be glad to hear from some of the brothers Where is Frank Lashes youngest boy
Brother Elics Widow is getting very we I havent ben to see her in some time Mary we have Prohabition in our county they order whiskey some but that is not as bad has having the saloones for our boys to be coyed into by their asciociates I will be glad when they vote whiskey out of the state and pass a law prohibating ordering it there are not near the drinking there use to be hear I thank God for it
